Wow what a show!
As you all know, last month we had the privilege of being invited to showcase our collection at Brighton Fashion Week, the only UK and European Fashion Week for Ethical and Sustainable design and oh my, was it a show of all of shows.
Firstly, being surrounded by so many people who share the same value structure when it comes to fashion business is a blessing and secondly finding out all the different ways ethical fashion can be tackled is an enlightening experience.
The 3 day event started off with the Love your Clothes challenge, working with local schools and businesses to harness the value in upcycling. A mountain of unwanted garments lay in the midst of a market square, encircled by stalls of sewing machines worked by students and homeworkers alike to bring back to life an old pair of jeans or that jumper you thought you’d never wear again.
An early start the following day ensured plenty of rehearsals, fittings, makeup and hair were complete before the start of The Sustain and Zeitgeist Shows. A day that was also filled with workshops and talks on ethical and sustainable fashion from WRAP and the founder of Fashion Revolution, Orsola de Castro to name but a few.
We received so many great compliments and feedback on our collection made in the UK, made with peace silks, British wools and herbal dyes, that we’ve collated a list of photos, video links and blog entries showcasing all designers we shared the stage with.
